Samsung implemented a new flagship software update policy with its Galaxy S24 series. While future devices will get longer software support, it doesn’t apply to the most recent Samsung flagships. Similarly, Samsung restated that Galaxy AI features are not coming to all older Galaxy devices.

The South Korean tech giant today announced the international availability of the Galaxy S24 series. The devices were unveiled on January 17 in San Jose, USA, and have received stunning response during pre-order. The company is now preparing to expand Galaxy AI features to existing models.

Samsung today officially revealed that the Galaxy AI features/experiences will be extended to previous devices through software updates. The company mentioned that the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Tab S9 series, Galaxy S23 FE, and Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 5 devices are eligible.

All of the above-mentioned Galaxy devices were released last year. An executive also disclosed that Galaxy AI features will not be shared with flagship devices released before 2023. There are no hardware-related restrictions, therefore, the expansion might take place shortly.
