Samsung’s next foldable phone is expected to bring significant upgrades. In a new development, it has been revealed that Samsung is focussing on bringing the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with a thinner and lighter design and making use of new UTG (ultrathin glass) technology.

While the tentative debut is months away, a new rumor indicates that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 could be thinner and lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 5. The device is likely to bring next-gen UTG tech, which is said to be stronger and more reliable than the current iteration.

In addition, it turns out that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 could bring enhanced water drop hinge technology for further reduction in weight and thickness. Notably, the Fold 5 and Flip 5 are the first Samsung foldables that equip waterdrop hinge technology.

The enhanced variant of the waterdrop hinge could also benefit the next Galaxy foldable with smaller and less visible crease. With incremental upgrades, the South Korean tech giant is ensuring the stability of the foldable segment and keeping it innovative than others.
