Samsung updates its Quick Share app with new logo on Windows

Samsung is getting ready for the integration of Google‘s Nearby Share and its own Quick Share feature, which allows users to share files wirelessly between devices. The latest update to the Quick Share app on Windows shows a new logo that reflects the upcoming joining of the two services.

For a long time, Quick Share has been a feature of Samsung devices and it also works on some Windows PCs with a dedicated app from the Microsoft Store. The app requires Intel-based Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to work.

However, the new logo does not mean that the app has received support for Nearby Share. The updated Quick Share app still only works with Samsung Galaxy phones that have the same feature. It is not clear if or when the app will be compatible with other Android devices that use Nearby Share.

Meanwhile, users who want to use Nearby Share on Windows can still download the official app from Google, which works on more Windows PCs than Samsung’s app. The app lets users share files with nearby devices that have Nearby Share enabled.
