YouTube for Android tests a new way to explore videos by color
YouTube is testing a new way to help users discover videos on its Android app, feeds based on colors. The feature spotted by some users offers to create a feed of videos that match a particular color, such as red, green, or blue.
The color-based feeds are accessible from a “Craving something new?” card that appears on the app’s home screen. Users can choose from three colors and the selected color then replaces the white accent.

The feature is based on the predominant hue of the video thumbnails (and possibly the full videos). This may appeal to some users who like to organize their apps or photos by color, or who are simply curious about the results.
However, the feature also raises some questions about its usefulness and relevance. But the feature seems more suited for YouTube Music, where colors could indicate the mood or genre of the songs.
The color-based video feeds are currently in testing and may not be available to all users. YouTube has not officially announced the feature yet.
