After the FCC, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A55 5G was certified by NBTC certification in Thailand. Before launching the product in the market, the company is gradually clearing certification hurdles. This development indicates that the phone’s debut isn’t too far now.

The Galaxy A55 5G has been listed on the NBTC certification authority with model number “SM-A556E/DS.” The phone’s listing doesn’t reveal any key details but mentions that 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks are supported.

Samsung has reportedly equipped the Galaxy A55 5G with a new Exynos 1480 processor. This chip is said to boast a custom GPU designed in partnership with AMD for better graphics and possible ray-tracing support.

The phone will come pre-installed with Android 14-based One UI 6.1 software. Samsung is unlikely to offer the new 7-year updates support to the mid-range lineup, keeping it exclusive for the Galaxy S flagships and new foldables.
