Samsung scores 2x win with booming Galaxy S24 Ultra sales and Camera domination

The Galaxy S24 Ultra sales boom is making Samsung to be double happy. Initially, it was expected that Samsung Electro-Mechanics would supply less Galaxy S24 Ultra 50MP periscope camera than its competitors, but the situation has reversed.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics is reported to have produced and supplied the majority of the 50MP periscope camera sensors for Galaxy S24 Ultra. The company had an exclusive supply contract from the start of mass production until the end of the year, and Chinese companies have recently started deliveries.

Previously, it was expected that Chinese camera module companies would supply the largest number of folded cameras. However, Samsung Electro-Mechanics is supplying the largest number of folded cameras for the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

This year, the South Korean tech giant equipped its Galaxy S Ultra flagship with a new 50-megapixel periscope solution. This is a 5x increase in resolution over the previous Galaxy S23 periscope sensor, which had a 10-megapixel resolution.

While folded camera are known to be difficult to manufacture and expensive, Samsung’s subsidiary Samsung Electro-Mechanics is showing superiority in mass production capability and is continuing to achieve results by expanding its supply.
