Samsung will begin producing advanced Gen 8 OLED display next year: Report
In 2023, Samsung ordered equipment for its advanced 8th gen OLED display from Korean makers, however, the tech giant now seems to be moving one step closer to Gen 8 OLED panel production. As the firm will install its first deposition machine next month.
According to the report, Samsung Display will install its first deposition machine next month. The machine was made by Japan’s Canon Tokki and will be used to manufacture Gen 8 OLED. However, the tech maker has aimed to use these OLED panels for PCs and tablets.
Simultaneously, the chambers that will be used with the first machine are made by H&iruja, ICD, Wonik IPS, and Pine Solution. Therefore, it can be said that Samsung will begin swirling out advanced Gen 8 OLED display panels sometime next year.
Because, it takes over a year to secure the proper production processes after the machines are installed. It’s also worth mentioning that, Samsung Display is aiming to supply the first batches of its 8th gen OLED Panel to Dell and HP.
Furthermore, the South Korean tech giant reported plans to spend 4.1 trillion won up to 2026 to secure a production capacity of 10 million units per year.
