Samsung 7-inch foldable panel clears US MIL-STD certification
Samsung is one of the top contenders when it comes to the foldable segment and the firm once again proven this by acquiring the US MIL-STD certification for its next 7-inch panel. Also, Samsung Display is reported to be the first to acquire a military-grade specification for foldable screens.
According to the input, Samsung Display today announced that its 7-inch foldable panel has passed the US Department of Defense Test Method Standard or the MIL-STD-810 test. The panels are used in Samsung’s latest foldable smartphones.
To be mentioned, the MIL-STD is a certification that assures that a product has passed rigorous testing focused on environmental conditions such as extreme temperature, moisture, dust, shock, and more. There are nearly 30 testing situations that adhere to specific test specifications.
The best part here is, Samsung’s 7-inch foldable panel proved fully functional four hours after a 6mm-thick layer of ice formed and water spread at minus 10 degrees Celsius. The panel also withstood extreme temperatures ranging from -32 degrees to 63 degrees Celcius for 2 hours.
In addition, the panel further maintained its performance after undergoing 26 drop tests from 1.22 meters with forces up to 10.5 times gravity through high-speed rotations, confirming its ability to handle intense external activities without issue.
