Google Contacts widget to add a new messaging feature
Google Contacts is reportedly working on a new feature that will let you view and reply to your messages from the widget. The feature will require you to grant notification access to Google Contacts so that it can show you the latest messages from your contacts on the widget.
The feature is likely to work with any messaging app on your device, and it will be part of the Individual contact widget, which was redesigned last year with the Material You design language. The widget can be either a pill or a full-screen rectangle.

The new feature of Google Contacts is similar to the Conversations widget, which was introduced with Android 12. However, the Conversations widget does not let you reply to the messages from the widget.
The new feature of the Google Contacts app is not available yet but it is expected to roll out the new feature in the coming weeks.
