Despite being a South Korean tech giant, Samsung has been facing tough competition from Apple, even in its home country. With the rise in popularity of iPhones and Apple’s strong presence in the market, Samsung has been struggling to maintain its dominance.

According to the details, Samsung has been maintaining its position in South Korea since 1938, but now Apple especially with its iPhone 15 series continues to surge in popularity, showing Samsung that its top spot in its home country may not last long.

FYI, Apple officially outsold Samsung devices around the globe in 2023, breaking a 12-year streak held by the Korean tech firm as the world’s top smartphone seller. This shift in consumer preference highlights the fierce competition between these two tech giants.

This news may disappoint Galaxy fans, but the iPhone 15 series is indeed enjoying more popularity than its predecessor in Korea. Sales of the latest iPhone lineup jumped 41.9 percent in the first month of its official release compared to that of the iPhone 14 series from a year prior.

It’s worth mentioning that, Korea has been in the third-tier group due to the smaller market size for Apple for years. But now, due to consumers’ increasing preference for iPhones, Korea might be included in the first-tier or second-tier group when it comes to the follow-up iPhone launch.
