Samsung offers a diverse range of products and one among them is the smartwatch, which comes with circular design and several sophisticated features. Meanwhile, some recent reports suggest that Samsung might reportedly ditch the circular design of the Galaxy Watch in favor of the old squarish design.

According to the information of Sammobile, Samsung is considering switching to a square design for its future Galaxy Watch models, ditching the classic round look. It means, a square smartwatch with a curved build that is similar to the first Galaxy Gear might be in the works and could launch sooner.

To be mentioned, Samsung first made square AMOLED displays for its Gear watches and then switched to circular designs with the Gear S2 in 2015. However, the upcoming Galaxy Watch with its squarish design would be similar to previous models like the Galaxy Gear, Gear 2, and Gear Live.

The source further states – “We hear that the idea is enthusiastically being considered internally and it’s very much on the cards that the switch is going to happen”.

It will be interesting to see how Samsung implements the old design and how it convinces customers to embrace it again, who have adored the circular design of the Galaxy Watch series so much. Simultaneously, it’s not yet confirmed, with which future Galaxy Watch Samsung will bring back the squarish design.

There are high chances that the new design which will make the Galaxy Watch look somewhat like Galaxy Fit will be brought with the Galaxy Watch 8 Series in 2025. But it may also happen that, Samsung might have plans to implement this change with the upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 series, expected to launch in July 2024.
