Samsung Electronics stock ownership declined by 18.2% in 2023
As per the report, Samsung Electronics has been on the top, but the number of its stock ownership has decreased by 18.2% in 2023 with the effect of stock prices not rebounding significantly despite the rise in global semiconductor stocks.
The total number of Samsung stock ownership in 2023 was 5,216,409, with a decrease of 18.2% compared to the previous year. This number is nearly three times greater than Kakao, which has the second-largest number of owners among listed corporations ending in December.
The number of stock owners in Hyundai Motor Company is 990,000, followed by Naver with 950,000 and LG Energy Solution with 860,000. Notably, the total number of owners of listed corporations as of December was 14.16 million, 1.7% down from the previous year.

The total number of shares owned by listed investors was 113.5 billion shares, with each owner owning approximately 8,014 shares. Among all investors, the proportion of individual investors was 99.1%, and based on the number of shares owned, the proportion of individual investors was 50.7%.
Talking about the holders, so based on residence, gender, and age group, men in their 40s living in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province accounted for the largest number. In terms of the number of stocks held, a man in his 50s from Gangnam-gu, Seoul owned the most stocks.
