Google I/O 2024

Google has disclosed that its I/O 2024 developer conference will take place on May 14. The event will start with a keynote from CEO Sundar Pichai at the Shoreline Amphitheater in California. This year, I/O 2024 will have both live attendees and an online broadcast.

Since 2016, Google has held I/O at this venue, except for a break in 2020 and a virtual event in 2021. This year, there will be a limited number of people in the audience, but the event will also be streamed live for everyone else.

The second day, May 15, will offer more activities for those present. Unlike the previous three-day events, I/O has been a one-day event for the past two years.

Registration for the event is now open and those who register will get updates about the event’s schedule and sessions by email. They can also personalize their experience by saving content that’s relevant to them.

The conference is expected to focus on new developments in AI, the upcoming Android 15, and possibly Android XR. The Pixel 8a might be introduced in this event. Stay tuned for more information related to the I/O event.

Google Photos Gemini AI

Google Photos just recently received a new update with version 7.1 for Android devices. The strings of the new version reveal that Google is developing a new function, which will use Gemini AI to enhance the “Memory” feature of the Photos app.

The Gemini AI-powered Memory feature of Google Photos is expected launch to launch in December, making it a strong competitor to Samsung Gallery.

The Memory feature of the Google Photos app lets you create fun slideshows from your photos and videos, often highlighting special moments like family gatherings, trips, or birthdays.

Now, a well-known tipster Assemble Debug (via Android Authority) provides a piece of exciting news about Google Photos and Gemini AI. According to the tipster, Gemini AI may add a personal touch by including generative AI narration in memory slideshows.

Right now, Google Photos combines your pictures with music, but it doesn’t tell a story. With Gemini, users will soon enjoy narrated recaps that add context to their memories. It could first focus on the “Year in Review” feature, which summarizes your year with highlights.

With the Gemini AI integration, the Photos could leave the Samsung Gallery behind. The addition of AI aims to change how we enjoy our memories by making Google Photos a more appealing choice for managing photos and videos. Stay tuned with us for more information.

Google Pixel Buds app

Google has released an amazing update for Pixel phone users, by which the Pixel Buds app is now visible in the Pixel Launcher. This new change lets you easily find and access the app without any issues.

Before this update, the Pixel Buds app was hidden, so users had to search for it. Notably, the Pixel Buds app icon was never hidden on other Android devices, so this change is particularly for Pixel users.

The fresh update of the Pixel Buds companion client arrives with version 1.0.673625792. It is now available on the Google Play Store for Pixel devices. With this update, Google makes it easier for you to manage your Pixel Buds and enjoy a better audio experience.

You can see a fresh icon of the Pixel Buds app, which makes it look attractive on your home screen. Also, you can now add the app directly to your home screen for quick access to settings.

Google Maps pins get a makeover with new shape and colors

Google Maps Crashing issues

Google Maps is rolling out a fresh redesign for its location pins with a new update. The pins are now getting a new shape and updated colors to enhance user experience.

Recently, Google simplified the Maps app’s bottom bar to provide a more cohesive and modern look. Now, the company is making the Maps more appealing with redesigned pins. The revamped pins update is currently being rolled out server-side across Google Maps for Android, iOS, and the web.

The old pointed bottom pin shape has been replaced with a shorter, rounded, and modern design. This new pin features a white background and includes an inner circle that displays the category icon, such as stars, flags, or hearts. This new design provides a cleaner and more unified look.

While most pins retain their original functionality, some have undergone color adjustments. For example, the pin for museums has shifted from teal to purple. Other subtle color changes include a lighter shade for zoo pins and corresponding text. These changes show Google’s effort to enhance the visual clarity and overall appearance of the map.

The new pin design is slightly less prominent than the previous version, which may allow more points of interest to be displayed on the map simultaneously. This design choice also follows last year’s rollout of new colors for the main map. Users can expect to see these changes reflected in their map views, enhancing the overall navigation experience.
