Samsung is expected to unveil its first affordable foldable phone later this year but the upcoming device – Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE which costs $800 might not be a money-maker for the Korean tech giant. However, the device is welcomed as it will cater to the needs of a diverse range of users.

A tipster @TheGalox_ believes the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE is a controversial product for Samsung. It will be great for sales and gaining market share, but not so great for revenue when compared to the original Galaxy Z Fold 6. This means the device will not have a big contribution to the firm’s profit.

So, keeping in mind the fact that it is not a money-maker product, Samsung has decided to produce only 300,000 units of the $800 Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE smartphone. Simultaneously, the device is expected to be unveiled alongside the Galaxy S24 FE in between September and October 2024.

Some previous leaks also suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE or the cheaper foldable could likely be a Galaxy Z Fold 4 excluding the Spen support. Accordingly, the smartphone will be inferior to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in terms of processor, screen, battery, and feature the same camera as the flagship Galaxy Z Fold 6.
