Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will miss One UI 6.1 Galaxy AI’s Instant Slow-mo feature

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE and eight other flagship smartphones are set to receive the One UI 6.1 update along with Galaxy AI features on March 28. This significant update will introduce several new functions and improvements. However, the One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy S23 FE will not include the Instant Slow-mo feature of Galaxy AI.

Instant Slow-mo feature is not coming to the Galaxy S23 FE smartphone with One UI 6.1 because Samsung selects and applies AI functions to different models based on a thorough evaluation of potential impacts, such as performance and usability, that software updates may have.

Notably, the One UI 6.1 update will bring the Instant Slow-mo feature to the Samsung S23 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series.

Instant Slow-Mo

The Instant Slow-mo feature is powered by on-device AI and generates smooth motion in videos by filling in frames, providing users with a more realistic viewing experience.

To use it, one simply presses and holds on the screen while watching a video in the gallery or video player. This allows for a closer look at fast-paced actions like sports or dance moves.

While users can edit and save these slow-motion clips, or share them via social media, the feature does have its restrictions. Instant Slow-mo doesn’t work with videos that are downloaded, shared, screen-recorded, streamed online, or saved in the cloud due to quality variations. It’s only compatible with videos recorded or saved directly on the device.
