Gemini for Google Maps brings voice navigation
Google has updated its phone assistant Gemini to enhance its capabilities with the addition of Voice navigation for Maps. Now, users can start navigation on Google Maps with simple voice commands.
The latest update allows users to say “Navigate to [place]” or “Take me to [x], and Gemini presents a route summary, travel time, and distance, followed by automatically starting the navigation, thus simplifying the user experience.

Furthermore, Gemini now supports voice commands to set reminders and calendar events, provided the Workspace extension is active in the app settings. However, this feature’s availability may vary by country.
The update also introduces an ‘auto submit’ feature for voice commands, removing the need to press the ‘send’ button. Aside from these improvements, the ability to control media playback through Gemini’s voice commands is also coming soon.
