Samsung Wallet promo is all about attracting Korean teens to counter Apple Pay

Samsung has started running an exclusive Samsung Wallet promo for Gen Z customers in South Korea. Samsung Wallet is collaborating with financial services, convenience stores, and food and beverage, frequently used by Generation Z.

Countering Apple Pay?

Apart from iPhone sales, Apple Pay is also extending its presence in the Korean market. Being a local company with and reputed image on its home turf, Samsung is facing competition, resulting in, we’re seeing exclusive promotions.

The Korean tech giant says partnerships will benefit teenagers the most. The promo starts today and will be running for three months – until June 30, new Samsung Wallet customers aged 14 to 19 who issue a “Samsung Pay Cash Card” will be instantly credited with 5,000 won.

Toss Youth Card

Customers aged 7 to 16 who register and use their ‘Toss Youth Card’ issued in Samsung Wallet for payments will receive a one-time payment of 2,000 won in ‘Toss Money’ during April.

“We’ve designed this promotion to allow more customers to experience the unique advantages of Samsung Wallet catered specifically towards Generation Z.” – Samsung.

Collab with Generation Z preferred brands

Samsung has also prepared additional benefits through collaborations with brands popular among Gen Z. In partnership with CU convenience stores, they will offer discounts on triangle gimbap and run roulette events.

Apart from this, through the ‘Gift’ menu of Samsung Wallet, the first 10,000 customers can purchase exchange tickets for ‘Baskin Robbins Pint Ice Cream’ at a 20% discount.
