Galaxy AI refresh is headed for 9 Samsung flagships from 2023. The strategy is to equip 100 million devices with AI features this year and preempt the global AI phone ecosystem. That is why, Samsung is bringing Galaxy S24’s AI features through software update to flagship models released last year.

Samsung has already started distributing the One UI 6.1 update for flagship phones and tablets released in 2023. The target models are a total of 9 models, including the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra, S23 FE, Z Flip 5, and Fold 5, as well as the Galaxy Tab S9 series.

Existing device users will also be able to use various Galaxy AI features such as Live Translate, Chat Assist, and Circle to Search. The upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 will finally complete Samsung’s commitment to equipping over 100 million Galaxies with Galaxy AI this year.

Counterpoint Research predicts that AI phone shipments will grow at an annual average of 83% until 2027 to reach 522 million units – 40% of all smartphones. Samsung Galaxy series will likely account for more than half of the AI phone market in the next two years.
