WhatsApp is developing a feature that will allow users to secure their Locked chats on linked devices with a secret code. Identified via version 2.24.8.4, the fresh beta update improves privacy for users by extending the locked chats feature from the primary device to all connected devices.

At present, users can hide their chats on their main device and access them using a personal code. According to the WABetanInfo, the new feature will apply similar security for chats on linked devices, ensuring that private conversations are kept confidential across all devices.

To enable this feature, users need to set up a secret code in the chat lock settings on their primary phone. Once the code is configured, the locked chats will be removed from the chat list and can only be accessed by entering the secret code on any linked device.

With this new feature, WhatsApp aims to enhance the security of user conversations, particularly addressing the privacy concerns that arise when chats are left exposed on linked devices. Users can expect a stable update that will offer enhanced privacy with the introduction of the locked chats feature for linked devices.
