Galaxy S22 updated with April 2024 security patch, One UI 6.1 still remains on hold

Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones are receiving a new firmware update with April 2024 security patch. The update is rolling out for locked models on the T-Mobile network carrier in the US.

April 2024 security update for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series can be identified through the One UI build version mentioned below.

  • Galaxy S22 – S901USQS4DXD2
  • Galaxy S22 Plus – S906USQS4DXD2
  • Galaxy S22 Ultra – S908USQS4DXD2

The latest security update improves the security and stability of the smartphone. However, it does not include One UI 6.1 but the company will soon release this major update for Galaxy S22.

If you have received the update pop-up on your smartphone, you can install it to get an enhanced experience. You can check and install the update through Settings >> Software Update >> Download and Install.

April 2024 security patch details include patches from both Google and Samsung to address vulnerabilities and bugs. Google patches 1 critical and 26 high-level CVEs for the Android operating system.

In addition, Samsung has also addressed 17 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items to enhance security. It fixes issues related to Storage Manager Service, Out of bounds write, and more.
