Weekly Wrap: Samsung’s 200MP Telephoto, Impulse, Galaxy AI, Watch 7, S24 Seletti Cases and more
Samsung has many gadgets in its pipeline, One UI 6.1 is readying for older phones, and the Galaxy AI expansion controversy isn’t stopping. Samsung world, as always, remained filled with many headlines whether it’s an upcoming device or ongoing developments.

200MP ISOCELL HP9 Telephoto
Samsung is reportedly working on a 200-megapixel custom image sensor. The sensor could debut as ISOCELL HP9 and Vivo X100 Ultra is expected to use it as a Telephoto sensor. Don’t get too hyped as Samsung is unlikely to bring it to Galaxy S Ultra anytime soon.
Samsung Impulse AI App
Samsung launched the AI-powered IMPULSE app, which was created in partnership with Cheil and the Speechcare & Stuttering Center. This app aims to help people with speech disorders, such as stuttering, which affects over 1% of the global population.
Galaxy AI
Samsung updated 9 older Galaxy devices with S24’s AI features through One UI 6.1. However, Galaxy users are quite disappointed by Samsung’s Galaxy AI expansion plan. Despite having the same hardware specs, the S22 series isn’t eligible for AI features, which S23 FE has.

Galaxy AI adds 3 more languages
Features like Live Translate, Interpreter, Chat Assist, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, and Browsing Assist add support for three more languages. Arabic, Indonesian, and Russian join the 13 already supported languages. Support for Romanian, Turkish, Dutch, and Swedish coming later this year.
Galaxy Watch 7
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 LTE (US model) is certified by Bluetooth SIG; Bluetooth 5.3 with LE.
Samsung and Seletti team up
Samsung and Italy’s Seletti team up to launch limited-edition cards for Galaxy S24 series. The cards feature a black-and-white pattern with a pop and optical mood. When the card is inserted into the Flipsuit cover, the smartphone’s lock screen automatically synchronizes with a dynamic GIF.
Galaxy Unpacked before the Paris Olympics
Paris Olympics is set to kick off on July 26 and Samsung is planning to hold its foldable-focussed Galaxy Unpacked before that. As a result, the company will likely introduce the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 two weeks before the Paris Olympics.
One UI 6.1 Hotspot issue
Samsung devices updated to One UI 6.1 reported having occasional problems with Hotspot functionality. The company, through its Korean community, shared a temporary solution and confirmed that the first firmware will be pushed soon.
Exynos GPU upgrade plan
Exynos chipset has returned to Samsung flagship smartphones this year. The company seems to have no plans to ditch its Exynos SoC from the mobile business, resulting in, it looking for talented developers who could work with ARM on the development of Exynos GPU.
