Samsung and Lenovo could soon initiate Slidable display era: Report

Samsung is reportedly developing a slidable display in collaboration with Lenovo. The company seems to have partnered with a key laptop manufacturer to commercialize innovative products with slidable display technology.

ETNews sources claim that Samsung and Lenovo working together to develop slidable display products. The companies will likely commercialize the prototype display that Samsung D introduced at the Intel Event 2022.

The 13-inch display is said to be expanded to 17 inches when slid. This product is expected to be a hybrid version of tablet and laptop functionality, with a smaller screen working as a tablet and expanded as a laptop.

It’s expected to be a product that can be used as a 13-inch tablet when you want to use it as a tablet When you want to see a larger screen or work on documents, you can expand it to 17 inches and use it like a laptop.

“The commercialization has been decided and the mass production panel is being made,” said an industry source familiar with the matter. “I understand that Lenovo plans to release the final product by the end of this year or early next year.”

The slidable display will be a major milestone after the maturing foldable display era. Samsung is about to release sixth generation of foldable phones and the day of unveiling slidable display devices isn’t too far now.
