Robotics: Samsung’s first wearable robot, Bot Fit coming soon

Samsung could launch its first wearable robot named Bot Fit in the next quarter. A new report reveals the company has conducted the development of its first wearable robot. This product is expected to be unveiled in the market in the third quarter.

The Chosun reports that Samsung and LG will likely compete in the robotics market in 2024. Beyond AI appliances, Samsung is preparing to launch Bot Fit, its first wearable robot. This product could assist individuals with mobility issues and enhance physical activity.

The company has been reportedly supplying Bot Fit prototypes to senior communities. Ahead of unveiling Bot Fit in the market, Samsung dissolved the Robot Business Team in the DeX Division and reallocated R&D personnel under the CTO.

A Samsung representative explained, “The R&D team has completed the development of Bot Fit and is preparing for the next steps. The reorganization aims to strengthen the robotics business.”

Next-gen humanoid robots

The South Korean tech giant is also involved in next-gen humanoid robot development. Samsung’s Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong has assigned this project, having a keen interest. Meanwhile, the robot Ballie is also expected to launch this year.
