Samsung reportedly started 2nm Exynos development, aiming to be used in the Galaxy S26 series. ETNews reports that the company has recently commenced the project to develop a 2nm mobile chipset, which is targeted to be implemented in the future Exynos chipset.

The report notes that a 2nm Exynos chipset be used in the Galaxy S26 series. As TSMC also plans mass production of its 2nm SoC, Samsung doesn’t want to lag behind its rivals including Qualcomm and MediaTek. That said, we may see the 2nm Exynos in 2026’s flagships.

The South Korean tech giant has internally codenamed the 2nm AP project – “Thetis.” The silicon might be mass-produced later next year and debut with the Galaxy S26 series in 2026. Samsung also made a related announcement to mass produce 2nm SoC from 2025.

Pay attention, the Exynos 2500, which will be used in the S25 series, will be fabricated on the enhanced 3nm technology. If the company manages to ship the 2026 flagships with a 2nm chip, it will be a magnificent development in the Foundry Industry.

Not only the Foundry business, but the mobile business will also boom, giving a solid edge over Apple and Qualcomm. The next Snapdragon will also be fabricated on a 3nm process, whereas, there are no rumors about the Snapdragon coming out in 2025.
