Samsung now aims 270 million Galaxy device production in 2024

Samsung has reportedly increased its Galaxy device production plan for 2024. A report says that the company now aiming to produce 270 million units this year, a substantial 17 million hike compared to the original target of 253 million units.

South Korea’s TheElec also reports that Samsung could increase JDM smartphone production by 23 million units. In particular, joint development and manufacturing would be increased from 44 million units to 67 million units in China this year.

Last year, the South Korean tech giant was estimated to have set a plan to produce 253 million devices in 2024. Of the 253 million units, 44 million units were to be produced through JDM in China, which is going to be 67 million units – an increase of 23 million units.

Of the smartphone volume that Samsung plans to produce directly this year, 28 million units, are outsourced by Hansol Technics and Dream Tech at their Vietnamese factories. The volume of Hansol Technics is known to be 25 million units and that of Dream Tech is 300,000 units.
