Samsung Display might supply foldable panels for future foldable Apple iPhone. LG Display, on the other hand, is expected to be in charge of supplying foldable OLEDs for other IT products. TheElec reports that Samsung Display is likely to develop a product panel similar to a foldable phone.

In a recent development, Apple asked Samsung and LG Display to share the status of the development of foldable products. The company has reportedly sent requests to both panel manufacturers for information (RFI) related to the development.

Apple is reportedly working with Samsung and LG for different foldable products. Since the project is running, the specifications of the foldable products aren’t yet decided. However, Apple’s first foldable iPhone might use a panel of 7 to 8 inches.

Back in December, Samsung Display carried out an organizational reorganization based on focusing its capabilities on responding to Apple’s foldable products and establishing an independent microdisplay team for extended reality (XR) devices.

It is reported that the US tech giant might bring its first foldable screen product to the market by 2026. However, it could be a foldable iPad, instead of a foldable iPhone. As soon as the crease problem gets a solution, we might see the foldable iPhone in the market.
