Samsung Galaxy S20 series getting May 2024 update in the US

Samsung is sending the May 2024 security update to Galaxy S20 series smartphones in the US. This update has already been rolled out for this series in Korea and Europe.

Users of Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphones are getting the May 2024 update in the US with One UI Build version G98xVSQS9HXE2 on the Verizon network carrier. While the users on T-Mobile, US Cellular, and Sprint carriers receive it with firmware G98xUSQS9HXE2.

The latest security patch is significant as it resolves 45 security issues. Google is addressing 33 vulnerabilities, which include 3 critical and 26 high-level threats. Samsung has also included 25 enhancements specific to its devices, focusing on improving features like the Secure Folder and the multitasking framework.

This update protects from possible bugs and viruses to ensure the smartphones operate smoothly. Samsung advises all users to install the update immediately to benefit from the new security measures.

For update installation, users should navigate to their smartphone’s settings, select ‘Software Update’, and then ‘Download and install’.
