Qualcomm has now officially launched Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset. This 5G Mobile Platform is fabricated on 6nm process technology. We would see mid-range phones equipping Qualcomm’s new chip from different OEMs in the future.

The new Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 features Kryo cores and an Adreno GPU. It brings 64-bit architecture and includes Kryo cores with up to 2.3 GHz peak frequency. Besides, it packs an AI engine to provide access to AI-driven camera features, voice recognition, and more.

Qualcomm revealed that Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 supports 120Hz Full HD+ display. The company fueled it with an X51 5G modem, enabling up to 2.5 Gbps download speeds. Moreover, it boasts Qualcomm’s FastConnect 6200 and supports Wi-Fi 5 802.11 a/ac networks.

In terms of optics, the new 8s Gen 3 chip has Spectra triple ISP, supporting multi-camera photo and video captures as well as AI-enhanced low-light photography. Manufacturers can bring up to 108MP camera with 720p video recording at 120fps using this processor.

Supported sensors of 6s Gen 3 include QZSS, Galileo, Beidou, GLONASS, NavIC, and GPS. Devices will pair LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. It also enables support for up to Quick Charge 4+.

Samsung is unlikely to bring this new Snapdragon chip to any Galaxy smartphone. As far as the debut is concerned, Motorola would be the first OEM to use this octa-core Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 in its next smartphone, tentatively named Moto G85 5G.
