samsung Galaxy S22 July 2024 security update

Samsung will launch the Galaxy S25 series in early 2025. The company is yet to introduce its next-gen foldable phones, while the next Ultra seems to be already in the works. Courtesy of AndroidHeadlines, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra made its first appearance on the IMEI database.

We are yet to see what changes Samsung will bring to its next Galaxy S series. A major design revamp and camera-related hardware upgrade is likely. However, things will get clear in the last quarter of the year, when we will be near to the lunch in January next year.

IMEI listing reveals nothing other than the S25 Ultra’s model number SM-S938U. It’s a US variant with carrier branding, while international models will have differences in the last character. Pay attention, the listing has been spotted in the outlet’s IMEI database, not on Samsung’s.

Apart from the S25 Ultra, Samsung will also launch the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus. These smartphones are expected to get Exynos and Snapdragon chipsets, market-wise. The Standard model is for consumers who prefer flagship performance in a mid-sized handset.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S Plus introduces Ultra-like display and battery capabilities. The only difference is the design language, which is squarish having sharp corners in Ultra and flat + rounded corners in the Plus. Both non-Ultra models lack S Pen input support.

Samsung will equip the Galaxy S25 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy chip. It’s expected to bring Qualcomm’s own developed Oryon central processing unit. It’s also rumored to bring three camera sensors of a 50-megapixel resolution.

James is the lead content creator on Sammy Fans and mostly works on Samsung's firmware section. His first phone was the Galaxy S4 and continues to get new S series devices. Most of the time, James tries to learn about new technologies and gadgets but he also sneaks a bit of free time to nearby rivers and nature.

Samsung Galaxy Store August 2024 update

A new Necro Trojan has been stealthily infiltrating millions of Android devices through Play Store apps. Benqu’s Wuta Camera and Max Browser were confirmed to have been affected by the Android malware Trojan, putting millions of users’ data at risk.

Mod versions of WhatsApp, Spotify, and Minecraft are also suspected to have included the new Android malware Trojan. These applications are usually distributed on unofficial websites and app stores, hence, their reach can not be quantified.

Google is seemingly aware of the Trojan and the apps housing it, and it is currently investigating the issue. This kind of flaw can download and execute arbitrary code, potentially leading to subscription fraud, and route malicious traffic.

We highly recommend using apps downloaded only from Google Play or Galaxy Store. In case you’ve sideloaded any mod app, you should uninstall it immediately. Also, if you are the user of the two affected apps, uninstall is advised.

Benqu’s Wuta Camera

It has more than 10 million downloads, which contained the Necro Trojan from version 6.3.2.148 (July 18) through version 6.3.6.148 (August 20).

Max Browser

Google has now removed Max Browser from the Play Store, which had over 1 million installs. BleepingComputer reported that its latest version 1.2.0 still houses the malware.
