Lee Jae-yong, Executive chairman of Samsung Elec, met the Verizon CEO in the US. This development came right before the company preps to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. The Galaxy Unpacked event will likely take place on July 10 in Paris, France.

Samsung Lee and Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg discussed cooperation plans regarding next-gen communication and sales of new Galaxy products. In addition, Chairman Lee and CEO Vestberg exchanged ideas on various business aspects, including:

  • Plans for technology and services utilizing AI
  • Prospects for next-generation communication technologies
  • Strategies to elevate customer value through technological innovation
  • Cooperation to expand the Android ecosystem for Verizon customers
  • Cooperation to expand sales of new Galaxy products in the second half of the year

Discussions were held on joint promotions for new Galaxy products and ways for customers to experience the AI features within Verizon stores. After the meeting, Lee stated, “Let’s do everything everyone else does better than anyone else, and let’s be the first to do what no one else can do.”

Samsung reportedly planning to further cement its alliance with Verizon to accelerate the growth of next-gen communication businesses. It’s worth noting that Verizon is Samsung’s largest trading partner among global communication operators.

Samsung’s Lee in USA

Last month, right after the “Samsung Hoam Prize Award Ceremony”, Lee departed for the US and has been holding a series of meetings with CEOs and government officials from major American IT, AI, semiconductor, and telecommunication companies closely related to Samsung’s future business.

This recent trip aims to strengthen cooperation with Samsung Electronics’s major clients and explore new growth engines. The tightly packed schedule, divided down to the minute, includes about 30 events and will continue until mid-June.
