Samsung trolls Apple Intelligence through Galaxy AI ads
Samsung takes a swipe at Apple ahead of the unveiling of Apple Intelligence AI. Recently, Samsung’s US X handle posted a handful of videos, promoting key Galaxy AI features of the Galaxy S24 series. The ads also highlight features, which are not available on iPhone.
One of the Galaxy AI ads shows the “iPhone” word gradually unfolding and is filled with the phrase “Dare you to zoom into the dark without a Galaxy.” The video then ends with an actor holding an S24 Ultra and taking a night photo in a dark environment, with the words “Can your Apple do this?”.

This is a video highlighting the ‘Night Mode’ feature, which lets you take clear photos even in dark environments. The image quality of the Galaxy S24 series Night Mode has been improved with the AI-based ‘Pro Visual Engine’. Night Mode is a feature not found on Apple iPhones.
Another video shows the influencer using the ‘Galaxy AI Generative Photo Editing’ feature on the Galaxy S24 to enlarge a small apple. The post includes the caption “See what you can do with this apple.”

Other videos include scenes using the AI-based ‘Instant Slow Motion’ feature to slow down regular videos and the generative editing feature to erase an ‘apple’.

The videos, which are all composed of scenes reminiscent of the Apple iPhone, are filled with the phrase “Do more with an apple than Apple has ever done before.”
Samsung and Apple are known for their aggressive marketing campaigns that take shots at each other ahead of major events. Last year, Samsung criticized the iPhone 15 series over the inclusion of a USB C-Type port, which was the first to debut in the iPhone segment.
Apple’s first AI system, Apple Intelligence, is likely to be an AI-based system that controls existing applications (apps) rather than AI services such as image or video generation, similar to Galaxy AI.
Methods such as summarizing memos, text messages, and emails or automatically generating replies are being discussed. It is also expected that generative AI will be grafted onto the voice assistant Siri.
