Samsung Mobile boosts production plan for first half 2024

Samsung Mobile has reportedly increased its production plan in the first half of 2024. The company’s Q2 smartphone and tablet production volume is expected to exceed the original management plan by 3%.

According to TheElec, Samsung Mobile Q2 production plan of 49.9 million units is 3% higher than the original plan of 48.3 million units. However, the company may reduce production of the same product line in the second half.

In case of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 exceed expectations, Samsung’s Q3 production plan could increase further. In Q1, the company has already surpassed its pre-planned production target with 22% extra volumes.

Earlier, TrendForce estimated that Q2’s global smartphone shipments could decline by 5-10% QoQ. Also, Samsung’s shipments would fall below 55 million units in the second quarter due to sluggish sales of the Galaxy A series.
