Samsung video playback issue

Some Samsung Galaxy A smartphone users face frustrating issues related to video playback. Users of Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A24 reported that when they try to play videos in the Gallery app, they encounter a black screen with sound but no visuals.

In addition to this, some messages frequently pop up on the screen, showing “An unknown error has occurred” or stating that the video codec is not supported. This issue is not limited to Video playback but extends to Video calls.

Users of Galaxy smartphones are not able to see the other person’s video feed. Even third-party applications are affected, with videos failing to play properly.

The Samsung community moderator has mentioned that it has been found that these video playback issues are linked to a codec error in the Samsung phone. Some videos cause these errors, while others may play normally after a restart. However, the affected videos will continue to cause issues.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

Europe always seizes headlines whenever Samsung launches its flagship phones. The company has had a history of shipping Exynos chip models in the region. Well, the good news is Galaxy S25 Ultra will ship with Snapdragon 8 Elite in Europe.

In a recent development, Roland Quandt revealed the Galaxy S25 Ultra uses Snapdragon 8 Elite with 12GB RAM in Europe. The latest input aligns with the recent Geekbench listing that teased the upcoming SoC with 4.47GHz frequency.

The S25 Ultra could debut Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy across European countries. The chip that appeared on Geekbench had a higher CPU frequency than the US model. However, there was no massive difference in single-core performance.

The handset was possibly equipping Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy. It had two cores clocked at 4.47GHz and six cores clocked at 3.53GHz. The scores are 3011 points and 9706 points in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.

There were rumors that the South Korean tech giant would use Exynos chipset in certain regions. However, the yield issues seemingly becoming true as we’ve seen no signs of an Exynos 2500 processor in the recent past.

It was also reported that the company could replace Exynos with a flagship MediaTek chip. Nevertheless, the MediaTek SoC is being used in the recently launched Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Tab S10 Ultra internationally.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S25 series in January next year. We have got an early idea of the design language of the upcoming flagships. Meanwhile, more genuine details will come out as we approach the official debut in January 2025.
