Nuri Rocket will take Samsung chips on a ride to space

The next Nuri Rocket will take Samsung memory chips to space for testing. Samsung is partnering with Nara Space Technology to send its memory chips to the space to evaluate the reliability in space environments.

KEDGlobal reports that Samsung has signed an agreement with Nara Space Technology. Under this collab, the company will develop infrastructure to test the the reliability of memory semiconductors in space environments.

Nara Space and Samsung plan to send a memory chip evaluation tester to space. The solution carrying semiconductor tester is scheduled to liftoff with the fourth launch of Nuri Rocket next year.

Nara Space will develop the equipment to house Samsung’s memory chips and reliability evaluation testers. The startup will also participate in the equipment’s performance to ensure it operates reliably in space.

Through this unique appraoch, Samsung aims to conduct reliability tests in space. It will incorporate the testers into the Korean component verification satellite; to be launched as a secondary payload on the Nuri Rocket
