Samsung Galaxy S25 featuring Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 could bring an AI upscaling feature. This functionality would make the next set of Samsung flagships gaming beast. Qualcomm seems to be significantly upping the gaming capabilities with its next Snapdragon.

Weibo tipster DigitalChatStation claimed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC features “GPU interpolation technology”. The Galaxy S25 with Snapdragon chip could support DLSS-like AI image upscaling for games. When triggered, AI will clear and sharpen the graphics of games.

The Galaxy S24 running Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 runs the game at 60fps. Per the info, Samsung’s next flagships may support Genshin Impact at 1080p resolution and 120fps. AI seems to be playing a major role here, making the game graphics look smoother.

The details are about the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. Samsung’s custom “for Galaxy” variant might have even more faster CPU and graphics. It’s also possible that AAA PC/console-level games may be supported on Android flagships with the power of AI.

Interestingly, Qualcomm could AI upscaling features to phones running Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 through manufacturers. This means Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series and upcoming foldable phones would benefit from the upgrade.

We might see a similar development in MediaTek’s Dimensity segment too. The Korean phone maker is in touch with MediaTek to adopt the next flagship Dimensity chip on the Galaxy S25 series. The Taiwanese chip maker has to match such features to remain in competition.

Well, we are months away from Samsung’s Unpacked for the Galaxy S25 series. The devices will be launched in the first quarter of the next year. The company is currently preparing to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 on July 10 in Paris.
