Samsung forms HBM Development Team to catch up AI boom

HBM is a key element in the artificial intelligence market and data centers. Samsung is the world’s largest memory semiconductor supplier. To catch up with the AI boom, Samsung formed an HBM Development Team that will focus on specific tasks on HBM.

ETNews reports that Samsung established the HBM Development Team yesterday. To do so, the South Korean tech giant has carried out an organizational restructuring centered around the establishment of an HBM Development Team.

The priority task of Samsung’s HBM team is to increase competitiveness in the AI semiconductor market. The company has also decided that Vice President Young-Soo Sohn will lead the new HBM team. He is an expert in high-performance DRAM product design.

Earlier, the company divided development teams for HBM3, HBM3E, and HBM4. These separated team will now work under the same roof and leader. This would bring a significant push to Samsung’s HBM-related innovations and research and development.

One UI 6.1.1 with new AI features launches later tomorrow. Samsung is all set to host a mega Unpacked event on July 10 in Paris. Ahead of the official unveiling, it has been revealed that the AI Draw will be the most interesting feature of the One UI 6.1.1.

Tipster IceUniverse revealed that AI Draw will be the most interesting feature of One UI 6.1.1. The source specifically noted the Galaxy Z Fold 6, hinting that it would be an S Pen-powered function. Other than the feature’s name, the tipster hasn’t added any other info.

New Galaxy AI features are set to debut with the One UI 6.1.1. These functionalities will also be provided to some older models including the Galaxy S24 series. It is expected that the AI Draw feature will be limited to Galaxy phones that support S Pen stylus.

AI Draw may allow users to make drawings with the power of artificial intelligence. A custom sticker creator is expected to be offered within it. AI would also make it easier and more convenient to draw shapes and straight lines which is not easy with S Pen.
