Despite preparing for its next One UI iteration release, Samsung has continued to release regular patches. As of 6 July 2024, Samsung has started rolling out the latest security update, with the Galaxy A55 being the first device to receive it.

Samsung Galaxy A55 smartphone is getting the July 2024 security update in India and the company will soon make it available in more countries. Users can verify the update with version A556EXXS4AXF6 and have to download a software package of around 225.97MB to install the update.

July 2024 Security Maintenance Release (SMR) combines patches from Google and Samsung. Google brings fixes for 4 critical and 21 high-level vulnerabilities in Android, although 2 are not applicable to Samsung devices.

Samsung has resolved 33 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) to further improve device security. These SVE items are mainly related to One UI Home, System Property, System UI, Filter Provider, Secure Folder, Configuration Message, IMS service, Knox, MTP app, and more.

This update brings system security improvement, stability optimization, bug fixes, and enhanced functions to provide an amazing experience. Customers can download it and review the latest changes through the Software Update and tap on Download and Install option in the Settings app.

It is an initial rollout so the company will add more Galaxy devices to the July 2024 update list in the coming weeks or days.
