Samsung guaranteed the new Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 for 7 years of Android updates. The company has added two more Galaxy devices to its longest software support chart. Given the 2024 debut, both new foldables are slated to get new Android and One UI updates till 2031.

7 years of Android guarantee started with the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung followed Google’s promise to its 2023 Pixel lineup. Now, the new flagship lineup is getting benefited by the company’s longer Android and regular software promise.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 come with Android 14 pre-installed. The company is developing One UI 7 on the new Android 15 operating system. It will be the first major upgrade for new foldable phones released by Samsung today.

Samsung usually debuts three variants of One UI skin on the same OS version. One UI 6.0 and One UI 6.1 are already here, with the new phones today introduced One UI 6.1.1. All three versions are based on Android 14 operating system.

One UI x.0 version brings a new operating system to Galaxy devices. It usually comes in the fourth quarter of each year. It usually intros major design changes and core Android features to compatible Galaxy devices apart from Samsung’s tweaks.

One UI x.1

One UI x.1 iteration launches with new Galaxy S series phones in the first half of each year. In recent years, it has been observed that Samsung has released many new features with its x.1 version. The company makes it available to almost every phone that got x.0 updates.

One UI x.1.1

One UI x.1.1 replaced the Samsung One UI x.5 version, which debuted with new Note phones. Now, One UI x.1.1 is a software dedicated to foldable phones and tablets. However, select Galaxy S phones get enhancements and new features without version bumps.
