[Leak] Large Folder coming to your Galaxy with One UI 7

Samsung Large folder

Samsung could be finally bringing Large Folder with One UI 7. Over the past few years, Chinese phone makers adopted the Large Folder feature in their Android skins. Seems like Galaxy devices will also receive the functionality this year.

Android-based One UI already supports the home screen folder function. Users can keep several apps within a folder on the home screen or apps screen. It allows users to keep their most used apps easily accessible the stay gathered in a minimal area.

Large Folder takes the user experience to a whole new level. HarmonyOS and HyperOS come with a customizable large folder feature. Simply put, a large folder can be expanded twice from the app icon-like folder size on the home screen.

While a regular folder keeps apps gathered as a dedicated space, a Large Folder makes access easier. Apps contained in a large folder can be opened with a single tap rather than first opening the folder and tapping the app icon to trigger.

Samsung Large folder

Large folder contains up to 8 apps in a 3×3 layout to be opened with a direct click. The 9th space in the layout shows the next apps in minimized size. If you want to open the 9th or 10th app, tapping the minimized icon will pop up the large folder.

One UI 7’s Large Folder is expected to have a similar design layout and functionality. Samsung may bring additional refinements to better help Galaxy users. It remains to be seen whether Large Folder is added in the Beta or reserved for next builds.

Samsung could launch the One UI 7 Beta this month. The Stable rollout will likely start in late October once Samsung unveils it at the Developer Conference. The Beta Program will launch in China, Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the UK, and the US.

Samsung Quick Share update

Samsung has released a fresh update for its Quick Share app with version 13.6.51.13. This update brings some useful improvements to make file sharing more convenient. It is available on the Galaxy Store with a package size of 23.53MB.

The new update of Quick Share changes the file size limits. Before, you could only share files up to 5GB each or per day using QR codes, URL copying, or sending to contacts. With this update, the limit has been increased to 10GB. Now, you can send larger files like big videos or large documents more easily.

Moreover, the update also improves the device identification process. Now, when you’re sharing files with nearby devices, the app will show up to two lines of text for each device’s name. This helps you quickly find and select the right device, especially when there are many nearby.
