Samsung starts rolling out the July 2024 security update to the Galaxy Note 20 series in the US. The latest security patch is making its way to carrier-unlocked handsets in the United States.

Users can identify the update through the PDA build version ending with HXFC. Samsung’s July 2024 security update fixes 58 common vulnerability items on Galaxy Note 20 smartphones.

PDA build versions:

  • N981U1UES8HXFC – Galaxy Note 20
  • N986U1UES8HXFC – Galaxy Note 20 Ultra

Earlier, the Korean tech giant disclosed its July firmware includes various bug fixes. It’s a complete package consisting of Android CVE items from Google and One UI SVE items from Samsung.

Being a sequential rollout, you may not immediately receive the update. Also, the initial availability is limited to carrier-unlocked models in the US, we guess it to expand by the next week.

Samsung is preparing to update its 2021 flagships with Galaxy AI functionality. Unfortunately, the Galaxy Note 20 series is not eligible for new Galaxy AI features due to the end of support on Android 13.

Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are Samsung’s last Note phones. The devices haven’t got successors as the company discontinued the lineup. The reason behind this big decision was to put the Galaxy Z series of foldables into the mainstream.

S Pen, the iconic gadget of the Note series was expanded to Galaxy S Ultra and Z Fold phones. The company’s recently released Galaxy Z Fold 6 also supports S Pen input, however, it lacks a dedicated compartment for storage.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 is a great phone equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and Android 14 OS. It’s supported by a 7-year software update guarantee. The company is running a pre-order activity, letting you trade in your old device at a great price.
