Bad News About Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra August Camera Update

Samsung may disappoint Galaxy S24 Ultra users waiting for the August 2024 Camera update. The company never pledged an August update to fix the camera. However, a Samsung insider had revealed that a major firmware is under development for the device.

Now, IceUniverse claims that the firmware is unlikely to optimize the Telephoto camera. Samsung’s alleged August 2024 update might not improve the Telephoto camera experience on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It’s a disappointing development for those waiting for improvements in the zoom camera.

With the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung introduced a new 50MP Periscope solution. It replaced the conventional 10MP Periscope with 10x optical zoom. The phone, meanwhile, continues the 10-megapixel 3x Telephoto used in the Galaxy S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra, and S23 Ultra.

Compared to its Chinese counterparts, the zoom camera capability of the S24 Ultra is low. Smartphones like Vivo X100 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Ultra introduce highly optimized zoom camera capabilities, that result in better photography experience than the S24 Ultra.

As the update’s arrival was a rumor, the cancellation is also a rumor. At the same time, the development of firmware is still underway. Therefore, there’s still the least possibility of deployment if the developers gain adequate results in optimization.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra may have three upgraded camera sensors. The company may use an enhanced 200-megapixel primary, a 50-megapixel ultrawide, and a 50-megapixel 3x Telephoto camera. The 5x Periscope and 12-megapixel front camera may remain the same as the S24 Ultra.

Aside from this, Samsung is rumored to bring new Galaxy AI features included in One UI 6.1.1 to the Galaxy S24 series. The rollout might begin in August, bringing select new AI features debuted with Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Stay tuned with SammyFans, we will keep you updated with the latest developments.
