3 new Weather Widgets coming to your Android smartphone
Your Android phone will soon receive 3 new Google Weather widgets. AndroidAuthority discovered that Google is developing new weather widgets. The new addition has been spotted in the latest Beta version of the Google app for Android.
These upcoming Google widgets will offer users a variety of weather info at a glance. The new widgets will join the existing two options. The current widget options are 3×2 and 4×2 – both are resizable, but the content and shape change when you modify them.
Google Weather widgets in development:
- A square 2×2 widget
- A 4×2 widget with a day-at-a-glance hourly forecast
- An expanded 4×3 widget incorporating a forecast for the next few days
Google’s upcoming Weather widgets feature more info than the current ones. As the new options are hidden behind flags/strings, Google may make further improvements. However, the current state of these new widgets seems quite stable and ready to be deployed.
The company could also delay the release of new widgets or squash them prior to release. The development stage and progress don’t solidify a sure arrival. Consumers should wait for Google to release new widgets through the Google app for Android.
Google continues to enhance the user experience of its services on Android. The upcoming widgets are part of the company’s commitment to level up the Android ecosystem. Most of the under-development features are available for general consumers post-testing.
Samsung Galaxy devices will also benefit from Google’s addition of new widget options. Samsung’s Weather app already powers many dynamic weather widgets on the home screen. However, Galaxy consumers will benefit from being Android smartphone users.
