Samsung has pushed the July 2024 security update to the Galaxy S23 series in Canada. This update is already out for users in several countries and the company will soon make it available for all models.

Users of Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra are getting the July 2024 security update in Canada with One UI build version S911WVLS4CXE9, S916WVLS4CXE9, and S918WVLS4CXE9 respectively.

The update enhances security and security by fixing over 55 issues. It includes fixes from Google for critical vulnerabilities in Android, ensuring that Galaxy devices are more secure against potential threats.

Samsung has also addressed a bunch of vulnerabilities mainly related to One UI Home, System UI, and Secure Folder, further improving device security. Beyond security, the update brings improvements in system stability, fixes bugs, and introduces enhanced features for better usability.

To install the update, users can simply go to the Settings app, select Software Update, and choose ‘Download and Install’. This ensures that Galaxy owners can get an advantage from the latest improvements and security patches.

Samsung has already started testing the One UI 7 build on the Galaxy S23 series. Recently, the Galaxy S23 Ultra running Android 15 and One UI 7 spotted on the Geekbench platform with a single-core score of 1658 and a multi-core score of 4028.

The Android 15-based One UI 7 could usher in a new era of software excellence, thanks to the personal oversight of TM Roh, President and Head of the Mobile Experience Business at Samsung Electronics.

Samsung is expanding the August 2024 security update to Galaxy A53 5G users in Canada and India. This update is already available in Korea and the US. The company is working to make it available for all models.

Users of the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G smartphones are getting the August 2024 security update in India and Canada with builds given below.

  • Canada – A536WVLUBEXH1 (277MB)
  • India – A536EXXSBEXH1 (254MB)

The latest update contains the Security Maintenance Release (SMR), combining patches from Google and Samsung. Google addresses 1 critical, 34 high-level vulnerabilities in Android, although 2 are irrelevant to Galaxy devices.

Samsung has also addressed 14 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) to strengthen device security further. These vulnerabilities mainly impact components such as system service, Knox services, Galaxy Watch, and more.

Samsung Galaxy A06 launches in India: Price and Specs

Samsung Galaxy A06 silently debuted in India. Following its initial launch in Vietnam, the smartphone entered the Brazilian market yesterday. Now, it’s available in three countries, offering nice specs for the entry-level segment.

The Samsung Galaxy A06 comes in two memory configurations in India. It includes 4GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB, priced at INR9,999 ($120/€110) and INR11,499 ($135/€125), respectively. The phone is available in three colors: Light Blue, Black and Gold.

The smartphone is equipped with Helio G85 SoC and runs Android 14-based One UI 6.1. The company announced two major OS upgrades and four years of security patches. Interestingly, it has some notable upgrades over its predecessors.

Samsung’s new A06 features a 6.7″ 60Hz HD+ display and a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W charging. It boasts an 8MP camera on the front, and the rear is a 50MP primary camera, joined by a 2MP depth sensor.
