One UI 7 will upscale gaming experience on Samsung devices

Samsung Galaxy S24 August 2024 security update India

Samsung teased that the One UI 7 update will upscale the gaming experience on Galaxy devices. While consumers are demanding a frame interpolation feature, Samsung has pledged enhanced gaming on its next One UI version.

The moderator concerned with gaming optimization stated that the inclusion of a frame booster is not easy in One UI 7. Since the Exynos SoCs feature Vulkan API, a platform-level frame booster can’t be applied as the GLES.

Meanwhile, the moderator assured to seek technical methods for gaming experience improvements. GLES is a high-level API while the Vulkan is a low-level API.

Some platforms are capable of controlling display on gaming operations. Hence, Vulkan-based platforms are tough to optimize for such controls without compatibility issues.

In addition, the moderator added that Samsung is in touch with game developers. The company intends to collaborate with developers to optimize the Exynos and Galaxy products with their titles for better experiences.

The moderator also pointed out that the One UI staff is working to eliminate SoC-level input latency. With each new One UI iteration, the company brings significant improvements to the input latency aspect.

Samsung’s One UI 7 will be powered by Android 15 operating system. The new software could be available in the Beta Program from August this year. The company has scheduled its annual Developer Conference in October.

One UI 7 will be released for Galaxy devices later this year. The moderator said that the team is working to find improvement points. Changes that will be deployed in the next version will be transparently revealed by Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition flaunts thinner design, brushed backplate

Published

on

Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will be the thinnest Samsung foldable ever. The upcoming smartphone’s render just surfaced online, displaying a thinner design, flat frame, slightly rounded corners, and brushed metal backplate.

Courtesy of AndroidHeadlines, we now have our first look at the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition design. It’s expected to be marketed as a thinner variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 that was released alongside the Z Flip 6 in July 2024.

Previously, it was rumored to debut as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim or Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra. Render shows the Special Edition has a design inspired by Z Fold 6 but in a thinner overall appearance – rivaling its Chinese counterparts.

The rear boasts a camera island, consisting of three cameras. However, the camera bump has a slightly different shape – it’s not as round as the Z Fold 6’s. In addition, the bump is slightly thicker than the one of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Notably, the phone’s backplate has a brushed metal look, aligning with the use of Titanium material. It might not be the official look at the device, but the render suggests a brushed metal look on the backplate, making it look different than the Fold 6.

It was revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold SE measures 10.6mm thick when folded and 4.9mm thick when unfolded. Rumors also suggested the adoption of an S24 Ultra-like 200-megapixel primary camera to better compete with Chinese rivals.

Despite being thinner, the device will likely support S Pen input. The cover and inner screens could also be slightly larger at 6.5-inch and 8-inch respectively. Samsung could launch the Fold SE in China and South Korea later this month.
