One UI 7 will upscale gaming experience on Samsung devices
Samsung teased that the One UI 7 update will upscale the gaming experience on Galaxy devices. While consumers are demanding a frame interpolation feature, Samsung has pledged enhanced gaming on its next One UI version.
The moderator concerned with gaming optimization stated that the inclusion of a frame booster is not easy in One UI 7. Since the Exynos SoCs feature Vulkan API, a platform-level frame booster can’t be applied as the GLES.
Meanwhile, the moderator assured to seek technical methods for gaming experience improvements. GLES is a high-level API while the Vulkan is a low-level API.
Some platforms are capable of controlling display on gaming operations. Hence, Vulkan-based platforms are tough to optimize for such controls without compatibility issues.
In addition, the moderator added that Samsung is in touch with game developers. The company intends to collaborate with developers to optimize the Exynos and Galaxy products with their titles for better experiences.
The moderator also pointed out that the One UI staff is working to eliminate SoC-level input latency. With each new One UI iteration, the company brings significant improvements to the input latency aspect.
