Samsung could launch Quantum 5 smartphone next month
Samsung could launch the Quantum 5 in collaboration with SK Telecom next month. The smartphone will be exclusive to the Korean market and locked with SK Telecom carrier. It is said to be a rebadged variant of the Galaxy A55 5G with enhanced security solutions.
SK Telecom revealed that Samsung Quantum 5 will launch in the third quarter. The carrier might put the device on sale by the end of August or early September. This year’s Quantum launch is stalled due to a delay in Samsung’s radio certification.
Quantum 5 (SM-A556S) will be available through the third quarter on Korea’s SK Telecom. It will be equipped with a quantum security technology. Other specs and design aspects as well as pricing of the device would be similar to the Galaxy A55 5G.
SK Telecom’s Quantum 5 could feature an Exynos 1480 processor with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It will have a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED Infinity O display with a punch-hole design to boast a 32-megapixel selfie snapper.
It will be packed with 5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. Android 14-based One UI 6.1 will come pre-installed. However, potential shoppers shouldn’t hope for any Galaxy AI functionality as it’s limited to flagship models for now.
It will be the first time the new Quantum phone has arrived such late. The carrier released Samsung’s Quantum phone in the first half of the previous year. Due to delayed radio certification, the companies have been forced to push the launch to the third quarter.
