Samsung has announced a big change regarding messaging service in its latest flagship smartphones in the US. The company has decided to stop pre-installing its Samsung Messages app and will use Google Messages app.

Samsung will no longer include its Samsung Messages app as a default feature starting with the latest smartphones including the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6. These phones come pre-loaded with Google Messages for messaging services.

Through this change, Samsung aims to align with Google’s improved messaging experiences globally. The Google Messages will provide a new and enhanced experience to express your emotions as well as make communication safe and fun.

Previously, Samsung mainly included its own Samsung Messages app on its smartphones out of the box. However, recent models will now feature Google Messages as the default messaging app in the US to promote RCS service.

While users in the USA will find Google Messages as the default, Samsung Messages remains available for download from the Galaxy Store. However, some features will be excluded. In other global markets including Europe and Canada, Samsung continues to provide smartphones with Samsung Messages pre-installed.
