Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 starts getting July 2024 security update

Samsung has begun rolling out the July 2024 security update for the Galaxy Tab S9 series. The update is currently live for users in Europe and the company will soon expand it to more countries.

July 2024 security update for Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra can be identified through the One UI build version ending with BXG7.

The latest patch contains the Security Maintenance Release (SMR), combining patches from Google and Samsung. Google addresses 4 critical and 21 high-level vulnerabilities in Android.

Samsung has also fixed 33 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) related to components like One UI Home, System UI, Secure Folder, and more, further enhancing device security.

It is an initial rollout so it may take some days to reach all Galaxy Tab S9 models. It is the first Galaxy Tab series to receive the July 2024 update. You can check and install the update to enjoy enhanced functions on your smartphone.

To install the update, users just need to download around 400MB package. For installtion, open Settings and tap on the Software update option. Inside the submenu, you need to hit the Download and Install button if your Galaxy fetches a new OTA.

Aside from the security update, Samsung is preparing to start the One UI 6.1.1 update rollout for Galaxy devices including the Galaxy Tab S9 series. This update will bring several new features and enhancements to provide a next-level experience.

Some of the highlighted features of One UI 6.1.1 are Sketch to Image, AI Portrait Studio, Auto Zoom, enhanced Note Assist, Instant Full-screen translation, conversation mode for dual screen, Suggested replies, Photo Ambient, and more.
