Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 screen broke within a day, is this widespread?
The inner screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 allegedly broke within a day. SamSWUpdate on X posted an image of the alleged Z Fold 6 smartphone. The handset’s main/inner screen is no longer functional signaling a manufacturing problem.
As shown in the image, the left part of the inner screen has broken. A green screen overlay appeared on the half portion of the foldable panel. It seems to be an OLED flaw, rendering Samsung’s most premium smartphone useless.
While detailed information regarding the incident is not available, we expect the consumer to get the unit replaced FOC. The fault may have appeared because of the initial production unit, as it usually happens in Samsung’s case, even though we had a similar experience with Fold 4.

Thanks to the purchase policy, Samsung would provide a replacement to the affected consumer. The incident would have ruined the consumer’s experience but it wouldn’t have been disastrous if the unit got damaged due to a manufacturing defect.
Samsung officially introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 6 on July 10 in Paris. The company has also announced the Galaxy Z Flip 6 foldable phone, Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch 7, Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro, and Galaxy Ring.
The company confirmed general availability to begin on July 24. However, shipment of pre-order units is already underway in select markets. Today is the last day for pre-orders, which is advantageous for potential buyers in many ways.
