WhatsApp introduces Double Tap Reaction feature for quick responses

WhatsApp is working on a new feature to make it easier for users to react to messages. Through the new feature, users will soon be able to react to messages on WhatsApp with just a double-tap. This feature is currently in the beta version for Android.

The fresh beta update of WhatsApp for Android lets users react to messages with a double-tap. This double-tap reaction is designed to make it faster to react or show your feelings in a chat.

Instead of opening a reaction menu, you can simply double-tap on a message to send a heart emoji. If you want to use a different emoji, you can still open the reaction menu to choose from other options.

Previously, WhatsApp introduced a media reaction shortcut in version 2.24.11.16, allowing users to quickly react to photos, videos, and GIFs directly from the media viewer. Now, they are taking things a step further by letting users react to any message with a simple double-tap with WhatsApp 2.24.16.7 Beta update.

Currently, there’s no option to turn off the Double tap reaction feature, which might lead to accidental reactions. If WhatsApp adds a way to disable it later, we’ll keep you updated.

Notably, the feature is not available to everyone yet, but it will be released in a future update. The company is currently developing it and will soon make it available for all beta users.
